Why we built it

I have stories I want to tell, but I'm honestly pretty bad at telling them. Having an idea and turning it into a video someone would want to watch are very different things. Our team wanted to make that process a little easier for people like me.

Sometimes I know what I want changed, but I don't know how to make it happen: start with a different take, cut a pause, add something visual, find music that fits.

How it works

With SocialGPT, you upload your footage and ask for those changes in chat. Tell it to tighten the cut, add captions, or bring in B-roll, music, and sound effects. Then keep refining through chat, or edit the timeline yourself.

Four things I'd love for you to try

1. Clean up a messy recording. Ask it to remove repeated takes and unfinished starts, then caption the cut.
2. Make the captions yours. Try one word at a time or short phrases. Change the style and placement through chat.
3. Direct a moment. Ask for a zoom on a reveal, a slow pan across a still image, or a sound effect when your B-roll appears.
4. Give a specific clip a note. Select it on the timeline, then ask for a change to just that part.

There's a proper timeline, too

Chat isn't the only way in. If it's easier to move a clip yourself, you can. You can review the AI's edits and undo what you don't like without having to explain everything in another prompt.

Who it's for

For me, the useful part is being able to try an idea and see whether it works. We're building this for business owners, coaches, and creators who want to be proud of what they post without spending forever editing, and who want to make videos without learning every editing tool.
